Who We Are

 

Berkeley, CA-based Terabase Energy is a venture backed startup founded in 2019 by six solar industry leaders as a result of a technology spin out from SunPower Corporation. Our mission is to reduce the cost and accelerate the deployment of utility-scale solar through the digitalization of the solar power plant. Our goal is to deploy the platform to deliver $0.01/kWh solar by 2025.

Senior Electrical Engineer, PV

Terabase Energy seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong photovoltaic experience to support the development, design and implementation of large-scale solar and energy storage projects globally. The Senior Electrical Engineer will interface directly with leading international solar developers, IPPs, EPC contractors and equipment manufacturers. The Senior Electrical Engineer may also advise on the development of in-house software related to design automation and optimization. The Senior Electrical Engineer will report to the Director of Project Engineering and will be responsible for directly and indirectly managing junior engineers and designers.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Terabase is at the forefront of applying innovative techniques that will remove 70-80% of solar power plant assembly works from the field using a combination of advanced pre-assembly and construction techniques, factory methods, customized equipment and automation. The technology is the cornerstone of Terabase’ mission to lower the cost of solar electricity to $0.01/kWh by 2025. The position will lead a product development team and be responsible for mechanical design, analysis related to large structures, single axis tracking systems, and custom designed tools, fixtures, equipment, and processes.

IT Manager

Terabase is at the forefront of applying innovative software and automation technologies that will lower the cost of utility-scale solar electricity to $0.01/kWh by 2025. At Terabase, we rely on our IT systems to power the solutions that help accelerate the deployment of solar around the world. We’re seeking an experienced IT manager who can join us on this journey, using his or her technological skills to make us more efficient. In this role, you will analyze our current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training. Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of network maintenance, experience managing staff, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. Senior Controls/SCADA Engineer

The Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, installing, and testing SCADA and plant control system for solar, solar and storage and other hybrid plants. The system must bring together multiple sub-systems of the renewable plant to meet the operational and regulatory needs of the owner and the grid operator. The Engineer is responsible to develop and implement logic for complex custom applications, capture client requirements for the system, coordinate with client and contractor, develop and implement required logic and perform testing and develop HMI screes. The Engineer is responsible for continuous improvement and operational excellence for controls and controls-related systems and equipment to achieve zero-failure rate, eliminate single points of failure, and attain aggressive targets for uptime and reliability.

Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of large-scale solar projects in cooperation with our customers and technical partners. During the bid phase this will include, among other things, reviewing cybersecurity requirements, identifying customer requests that require variation from standard deployments, and initial design of project network. During the implementation phase emphasis shifts to design and then execution. The Network Engineer is responsible for selecting the needed hardware, documenting all physical connections and media, creating the IP address space, and building switch and firewall configurations. They will also interface with stakeholders who need access to the plant networks to coordinate secure connections, including the plants connection to the ISP.

Product Manager - Terabase Software

The Product Manager is responsible for developing the roadmap for and ensuring the successful creation of a world class solar construction management platform. She/he will work hand in hand with our software development team, customers and business representatives to define the right solution for our users. The Product Manager will work on cutting edge automation technology to ensure our internal and external teams can be as efficient as possible and simplify complex workflows to deliver what our users need. She/he will manage and monitor user analytics and define KPIs to track to help drive optimal outcomes. She/he will work in an Agile Scrum environment, leading a fast-paced team to deliver quickly and respond to changing market needs and user behavior.
